Caring for Your Natural Fabric Garments
At Fine Thee, we work exclusively with 100% natural fabrics — known for their beauty, breathability, and longevity. With just a little extra care, your garments will look and feel their best for many seasons to come.
Below, you’ll find care tips tailored to each material we use in our made-to-order and small-batch clothing collections.
Wool
How to care for wool garments:
We recommend professional dry cleaning for all wool items to maintain their shape, texture, and finish.
Avoid washing wool at home — water and agitation can shrink or distort the fibers. Between wears, air out your wool garments outdoors to naturally refresh them and reduce the need for frequent cleaning.
Cashmere
Cashmere care tips:
Cashmere is an exceptionally soft and delicate fiber. Dry cleaning is the safest option, especially for structured pieces.
To extend freshness, allow your cashmere garments to breathe between wears — hang them in a well-ventilated space, away from direct sunlight.
Silk
How to wash silk clothing:
Silk is both elegant and delicate. We recommend professional cleaning for most silk garments, especially crepe de chine and organza.
Some silk jersey or raw silk pieces may be gently hand-washed in cold or lukewarm water using a mild detergent. Always dry flat, and avoid wringing or tumble drying.
Cotton
How to care for cotton clothing:
Cotton is a durable, low-maintenance fabric. Machine wash in cold or warm water using detergent appropriate for whites or colors.
- Use bleach only on white cotton
- Air dry in the sun for white garments
- Dry in the shade for colored cotton to prevent fading
Linen
Washing linen garments:
Linen is strong and naturally breathable. We recommend washing in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle detergent.
Air dry by laying flat or hanging — and smooth by hand while damp to reduce creasing. Avoid tumble drying to preserve the fabric’s natural texture.
Blended Fabrics
Care for fabric blends (e.g., silk & wool, linen & cotton):
Follow the care guidelines for the dominant fiber in the blend. When unsure, default to the gentler method — typically dry cleaning or cold hand washing.
If your garment includes a care label, always follow those instructions first.
Final Tip
Every Fine Thee garment includes individual care recommendations.
By following these guidelines, you’ll preserve the natural beauty, fit, and feel of your clothes — allowing them to last, soften, and grow with you over time.
